Hello All,
Here is a list of upcoming events that may be of interest to VLF members.
*****
1- HALLOWEEN EVENTS
FYC HALLOWEEN PARTY. First Year Council sponsors a Halloween party each year at the law school. This year the party will be Sunday, October 28th from 3:30-5:30pm, in Spies Garden. There will be fun and games to go with the candy. It should be a good time and many VLF members will be in attendance.
TRICK-OR-TREATING ON THE LAWN. A long-time UVA Halloween tradition which takes place from from 4:00-5:30, October 31st on the Lawn. For those new to the University, the Lawn is the grassy area on the inner side of the famous domed UVA Rotunda.
The Albemarle Family web-site also has a listing of other events that may be of interest to VLF members. Here is the link www.albemarlefamily.com/seasonal_fun.htm

2- CHOCOLATE FESTIVAL
For a fun family activity, please come by the Chocolate Festival in Lee Park on Saturday from 10am-4pm. There will be a moon bounce, face painting, a cupcake walk and games. These activities range in price from $1-$2 each. There will also be booth after booth of homemade chocolate treats for sale! The event is hosted by the First United Methodist Church and the First United Methodist Preschool. All of the proceeds will benefit their many community outreach programs. For more information, contact Tracy Montgomery at 4montys@gmail.com.

3 - UPCOMING VLF EVENTS.
CARTER MOUNTAIN ORCHARD TRIP. Our next scheduled VLF event is the Carter Mountain Orchard trip on October 20 at 10:00. It should be a lot of fun with great apples, great scenery, and great cider.
FAMILY FINANCE/ESTATE PLANNING SEMINAR. VLF is about promoting the interests of law students and their families, and on November 5 we have the opportunity to learn about an area of great relevance: Professor Mildred Robinson will be leading a discussion on matters of family finance. This will certainly include wills and estate planning, but the discussion can be more wide-ranging. The discussion will start at 4:00 p.m. at the law school.
We'd like your feedback on two points:
A. To enable greater attendance, we are looking into providing some childcare at the school, concurrent with the discussion. If this would enable you to attend, please contact Adam Suppes (jas6w). We will only seek to provide childcare if there is substantial interest, as it's a procedural nightmare for the law school.
B. Professor Robinson wants actual student questions to drive thediscussion, so we need your questions! Please send any questions to Adam Suppes (jas6w).
